The Wedding Guest Wish List!

It's Wedding season! From the Fairytale Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Megan Markle that took place yesterday, to the beautiful weather and atmosphere of love in the air, I thought it only right that I do a wish list of fabulous must haves this season if you are attending a wedding as a guest.

My tips for any wedding this season is to keep everything bright and fun. Shops like Karen Millen have beautiful colours like fuschia pinks and yellows in store at the moment. Floral prints are always a good choice, especially on a bardot dipped hem dress or a pleated midi. If you are a bigger busted woman then a wrap dress should be your best friend, they are fabulous at keeping the girlies covered, are flattering and appropriate. If you don’t want to go too over the top, then choose a simple silhouette in a neutral colour and a pretty lace.

If you don't want to break the bank but still want to look great, amazing shops on the high end high street like ‘Reiss’ do great suits for around £450 or dresses for £195, and the staff will go the extra mile to tailor it for you. Shops ‘Whistles’ and ‘Ted Baker’ have great wedding options for around £200, and if you are still watching your coins and don't want to spend over £100, there are great brands such as: ‘Chi Chi’ London that do beautiful dresses from around £60 - £85.

The essentials for a wedding would first and foremost would be your invitation, and
definitely a fascinator if its a high profile wedding. I think its important to pay attention to details like your accessories to really pull an outfit together, so ladies a statement clutch bag would be great, and gentlemen bring out those good cufflinks, and finally, bring a packet of tissues just in case you have little cry.

Those are your fashion tips from me folks, have a productive week enjoy the weather and stay fab! :) xx

Multi - Coloured Stripes

Outfit

Co-ord set - Zara
Shoes - Kurt Geiger (old)

Hi my lovelies!

Last week we were blessed with glorious weather of 26 - 28 degrees for 3 days straight, and in England that is major! That is 2 outfit changes a day so that you can get a good wear out of your summer clothes before the sun disappears again, so of course I decide to get my afro out and werk my looks while I have the chance!

I adore this lovely two piece set from Zara, I've always loved stripes on clothes and this multi coloured co ord is everything. The colours are great because they can transition right through to Autumn, the pieces look great separately if you want to break the stripe up with another item of clothing, and the co ord fabric is nice and light so you won't suffocate in 26 degree weather on the London tubes.

I am obsessed with these Kurt Geiger shoes OMG aren't they just marvellous? (rhetorical question - of course they are). The heel is what made me buy these shoes, I love that it's a block heel which make them suitable for both evening and day time events e.g Bbq during the day, date night in the evening. the multicoloured heel is so striking, I could just have on a simple black dress and the shoe would make a great statement.

When it gets to about April I love to leave my natural hair out for a while so it can breathe, there is something I find so freeing about just walking around with my fro out in the warmer weather its just great. To keep my hair healthy I keep it moisturised by spritzing it with warm water and seal the moisture in with coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil and shea butter.

Over all the good weather makes me happy, makes me smile a bit harder and puts me in a great mood. Have a great week everyone :) xx

My Bank Holiday Weekend!

Hi all,

The sun is out and I am loving it! I had the most fabulous weekend jam packed with lots of things to do. From doing a fashion and style segment on the 'Royal Wedding' at BBCWM, going rock climbing, to going to see 'Motown' the musical, this has hands down been one of my favourite weeks of 2018 thus far.

Thursday

On Thursday my Mr man had a surprise in store for me, so I put on a a lovely dress and began guessing what it could possibly be, and then we arrived outside the Shaftesbury theatre in London. I literally squealed with excitement when I realised he was taking me to see 'Motown' the musical,  I adore the theatre and if I didn't do fashion I would've done acting. The musical didn't disappoint, it was filled with our parents old time favourite songs like 'My Girl','Signed Sealed Delivered', and of course the beautiful sequinned gowns that were worn by the lady who played Diana Ross just took my breath away. After that it was a double date dinner at Wagamamas before a stroll down by Somerset house.

Friday

On Friday morning I raced back to Birmingham to prepare for my fashion slot on BBCWM's 'Richie Anderson' radio show, where I spoke with Richie about the 'Royal Wedding' giving my style tips on what colours and silhouettes people could wear to weddings, and which designer I think should design Meghan Markle's wedding dress. I had a monthly fashion segment for the whole year in 2016 so it was great to be in the studio again with Richie Anderson.

Sunday

Sunday was probably the busiest day of the week. In the morning I went to church which was great because I hadn't been for a while and I always enjoy the word that preps my mind for the week. The weather that day was beautiful with crystal blue sky, so my Mr and I took full advantage having a little picnic with chicken, chips and cans of pineapple KA before heading to the ice-cream parlour for passion fruit and chocolate chip ice cream (yum). At around 6:00pm I changed into a lovely orange dress, fluffed my afro and we headed out to the 'Jamaica Vs The World' Comedy show in Shepherds Bush. I laughed so hard, the show was hilarious with my favourite comedy sets coming from Aurie Styla and Shabba.

Monday

On Monday I completely stepped out of my comfort zone and went indoor rock climbing at 'Strong Hold' in Tottenham. I was worried at first because we had no ropes or safety harnesses, just cushioned crash mats, but once I jumped straight in I had so much fun, it was great and something I definitely want to do again. After rock climbing we drove to Oxford for a friends birthday at a lovely rooftop restaurant called 'The Alchemist'. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better day, it was sunny, I had on a backless dress, there was a beautiful view, I had a strawberry daiquiri in hand, and a lovely dinner of lamb with cous cous.

Over all my weekend was AMAZING! I didn't want it to end and my boyfriend really went the extra mile to make me feel special and pretty all weekend long. I hope we have more weather like this, I genuinely feel like everyones mood is much better and doing little things like going to the park and living in the moment is what it's all about.

Until next time have a great week guys xx :)
