Turtle Neck & Statement Necklace

Outfit

Turtle Neck: Urban Outfitters
Necklace: Urban Outfitters
Skirt: H&M
Bag: Dorothy Perkins
Shoes: Zara
Ring: LBD Gems

After the typical British weather being abysmal for the past few weeks we were finally blessed with some good weather yesterday. Birmingham was a gorgeous 27 degrees and I of course took advantage, and went to do some retail therapy with the most fabulous woman ever - my mother :).

I don't usually wear grey but I just love the way that this turtle neck halter from Urban Outfitters fits. It looks great with this skirt, and I've previously paired it with a pair of  grey high - waisted jeans which look great for a more sassy look. Admittedly wearing this top was a bit hot for 27 degree weather though.

This cute skirt from H&M is great for adding shape to the body by flaring out, and I particularly like the box pleats. Usually I find it hard to wear skirts like this because I have a bootayyyyy lol, and sometimes skirts like this won't go over it - but this one is just the perfect length just to cover everything.

Most of the time I'm in very bright colours, but this week I wanted to pull it back a little and make the colours of this gorgeous Primark clutch and my nails pop. I love this huge wire wrapped gem stone ring from LBD Gems as it compliments the colour of my skirt perfectly.

I looovvveee this choker statement necklace from Urban Outfitters, it literally blends in and looks like its part of the grey top. I also love all the details of the different links and layers in it, very creative and it only cost me £5! - Yep call me the bargain queen lol.

I could have just been predictable and worn black heels with this outfit, but I decided to go with these gold courts from Zara . I don't like my outfits being matchy matchy because it comes across as trying to hard, so I like to mix it up a bit as long as the colour still compliment each other.

Yellow, Black & Green

Outfit

Shirt - Zara
Jeans - Matalan
Shoes - Zara (No longer available)
Bag - Dorothy Perkins
Earrings - AnaIsArts

Hi Guys! This weekend has been pretty busy for me, I went to a wedding, we've had beautiful weather and it was also Jamaican Independence day on Thursday 6th, so today I decided to stick the theme of Jamaican independence and wear yellow, black and green.

It was a warm 20 degrees in Birmingham so I went with this beautiful canary yellow sand washed silk shirt from Zara that is just so fluid on the body. This shirt is great to wear to lunch with the girls or if you're going on a dinner date and you don't want to be too provocative, but still stylish.

Advice: Ladies if you are going to buy a shirt like this, be sure to steam it vertically instead of ironing it. This fabric also creases easily so be mindful of when wearing it.

I looooovvvveeee this clutch bag! I know that its not green, black or yellow, but I thought throwing in another colour would break the outfit up and make a bolder statement - and it only cost me £3!

These green accessories compliment the outfit, I love the chunkiness of the bracelet that I picked up from the market and my statement rings from LBD Gems that just pull the outfit together.

Of course I had to go bright with the eye shadow by using the green and yellow sections of my 'Acid' Sleek eye shadow palette. I went with a neutral tinted lip gloss to keep the focus on the eye shadow. My retro sunglasses finish off the look perfectly, I especially love the rose gold rim around them which gives them an expensive looking finish.

Lastly, my shooooeeeesss. You guys if you read my blog often know how I feel about shoes, they're like my collectors items, I have to have them! These ones I bought about 2 years ago from Zara and they are still going strong, they literally look like a Jamaican flag for my feet and of course I wore them with this outfit and they just brought everything to life.

A Trip to Black Pool!

Hi Guys!

Sometimes it's not all about me doing street styles, and this week I wanted to do something different and share about my most recent trip to Black Pool. Black Pool is about 2 hours drive away north of Birmingham. I haven't been here since I was about 10, so being the random person that I am, my guy bestie and I decided to take a trip up there...and we had a blast!

First of all I was ecstatic because it usually rains in 'Black Pool', but we had beautiful weather the whole time we were there.

The views of the beach and the sea were STUNNING! Obviously its not as great the sites abroad, but for a British beach its pretty decent lol.

We took full advantage of the cheesiness and BlackPool experience by going to the circus, I would love to have taken pictures of the acrobats and costumes but photographs were not allowed (annoyingly), but it was such a great show.

We took a walk on the beach which was verrrryyyy breezy but beautiful as well and I was just jumping around like a child and running across the sand lol.

When I was there I just wanted to be comfortable and warm, so I opted for my purple jeggings from Matalan, my white plimsolls for walking practicality, my yellow mohair jumper and biker jacket.

Black Pool Tower

Of course we had to visit the Black Pool Tower that has a 4D cinema, and took us 380ft above ground level. It also had solid glass flooring panels that you could stand on and see everything beneath you ( I won't lie, that scared the heck out of me and I had to get off it lol), but the view from up there was beautiful.

View From Black Pool Tower (380ft) high

Of course we had to get all the sweets like rock and candy floss before we left! All in all I had a brilliant time. Sometimes when you need to get away you don't need to spend hundreds of pounds or half a year planning and then waiting to go away. Sometimes the best times you have are the spontaneous ones that are just a drive away...as long as you have good company you'll have a great time. :)
