The New Years Eve Dress! - Happy New Year!

Outfit

Dress - Missguided (similar here)
Shoes - Zara
Clutch Bag - Zara (similar here)
Jacket - Rokit
Bracelet - Forever 21
Rings - LBD Gems

OMG I actually cannot believe that that this time tomorrow I will be sitting in the year 2016, I literally don't know where the time has gone. Not only am I turning the big 25 next week, but it is New Years eve and you know what that means - its an excuse to get all dressed up! In collaboration with the five star  'Grand Del Mar' in San Diego, I put together an outfit that I would wear to go to their fabulous New Years Eve party.

Looking at all the gorgeous hotel images, I was immediately drawn to all the greenery, and was inspired by the impressive gold and yellow decor in the luxurious rooms.

Hotel Interior and restaurant

I decided to opt for this beautiful olive green middi length dress from Missguided which was a bargain £5! The length of the dress makes it appropriate for going to a sophisticated dinner in the acclaimed restaurant, but the key hole cut out at the top makes it the right amount of sexy to go for a glass of prossecco at the bar.

I decided to do a bit of pattern clashing with this vintage jacket that I picked up from 'Rokit' in Covent garden for £11. This jacket is great to throw over a plain dress to jazz it up, and to also keep you warm when travelling from one event to another.

I decided wear simple accessories such as my LBD rings to compliment this suede and snake print clutch bag from Zara, and the bracelet from Forever 21 just adds an extra bit of oomphh to it all.

I'm obsessed with these pointed gold court shoes from Zara, they instantly make any outfit look sophisticated and expensive.

With all that being said, this is my last style post for 2015! Guys thank you for joining me and reading my posts, I really appreciate all the support. In 2016 you can look forward to more of my style posts, but until then - See you soon & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! :) :) :)

Black Coat & Burnt Orange

Outfit

Coat - TopShop - (bought from Ebay)
Joni Jeans - Top Shop
Yellow Jumper - H&M
Bag - Urban Outfitters
Rings - LBD Gems

And just like that Christmas is over for another year, I know it's sad right? Christmas is actually my favourite time of year, but the one good thing about Christmas drawing to a close, is that the sales start, and believe you me I am what you call a real bargain hunter. A lot of the sales actually started two days before Christmas, so I wrapped up warm, and headed out for some bits and pieces.

I actually bought this fabulous bargain 'Top Shop' coat from Ebay for £6.00, I was sooo proud of this purchase and it was brand new can you believe it!It's actually a lot warmer than it looks, and not only that, the structure of it just makes any outfit look more sophisticated and smart.

I decided to pair the coat with my pair of black Joni Jeans that are super comfortable and fit me like a glove. Girls if you have thick thighs and a small waist...believe me these jeans are your friend!

Wearing so much black at once always makes me feel a little depressed lol, so I broke it up with a bright yellow jumper from H&M, and added another burst of colour from the bright orange scarf which made me smile and feel warmer.

My hands were blinged up today with the fabulous rings from LBD Gems.

I always like to make my eyes pop and today was no exception. I used the 'Sleek' 'Acid' eyeshadow palette using silver and then green in the corners od my eyelids for an ombre effect.

Last but not least, let us stop for a second to appreciate these gorgeous Carvela shoes. I was in Kurt Geiger and picked them up and did a double take at the price, I got them for... wait for it....£9! I was like YYYAAAASSSSS! I thought it was an error lol, but I swiftly took those straight to the till, I was not taking any chances, and reduced from £65 for Kurt Geiger shoes that is what I call a steal. :)

Christmas Bake Day with Bae!

Hi Guys!

First of all let me apologise for being completely awol for the last couple of weeks, work had literally taken over my life for a second leaving me no time to blog, and when I did find the time the weather was completely crap (This is England after all, and like the people - it's unpredictable).

But It's nearly Christmas! Can you believe it? I honestly cannot believe that the year has gone by so fast, and honestly I haven't been feeling all that festive this year - that is until my boo came to see me - eek! I was so excited I decided that we should be festive, get our aprons on and do some baking (my idea not his, he was not here for the baking at all loool).

To be honest everything certainly did not get off to a great start, we completely messed up the frosting and couldn't use it, and ended up doing red velvet cupcakes without frosting (shocking I know)

, We didn't get deterred though, we just turned up the volume on the Christmas playlist which included the B2K version of 'Jingle Bells', Destinys Child '8 days of Christmas', TLC 'Sleigh Ride' Joe 'This Christmas' and some good old Kirk Franklin (my boyfriend was going in with some dancing as well lool).

By the time we got to cutting out the cookies, we were literally in a competition on who could make the best star, he thinks his stars were better than mine, but we all know that is not true. I was so excited for them to come out of the oven - and they looked a mess, they didn't look like stars at all lol, but when all else fails - Improvise!

We (or I rather) decided to do Christmas sundaes! When things don't go to plan, be imaginative and innovate! I broke apart the red velvet cupcakes for the first layer of the desert, and then put vanilla ice cream on top, then another layer of our hot mess (but tastey) cookies, then more icecream and topped it off with whipped cream. If you don't have a sweet tooth this is definitely not for you , otherwise its just YAASSSSSS!

(I secretly think he was trying to hide his apron lol)

Over all I just had so much fun for the whole day. Honestly I didn't really care that everything didn't go to plan, I was just happy to be spending time with the man in my life that makes me feel special. That's what Christmas is all about guys! Its not about how much you spend on someone, it's about spending time, creating moments and having fun with the ones you love.

Not everyday Fashion, sometimes, just spend time bonding with the ones that matter and creating memories. Happy Christmas! :)

Faux Fur Gillet & Joni Jeans

Outfit

Faux Fur Gillet - Urban Bliss
Long sleeved top - H&M
Joni Jeans - Top Shop
Ankle Boots - Kurt Geiger
Shoulder bag - New Look
Gloves - Debenhams

OMGGGGG! It is sooooo cold! I know in my last post I said that we were on the verge of Winter, but noooo Winter is here and it is not playing around. It was just 2 degrees yesterday here in Birmingham, so before I ran any errands I decided to wrap up warm.

I opted to wear these Joni jeans from Top Shop, and usually I just by jeans for £14.99 from H&M, but I always find that within two months my thighs have just ripped straight through them (black girl thick thigh problems). So after much deliberation I just thought I'd get two really good pairs of jeans, and honestly ladies the fit on these jeans is brilliant, they're super high waisted and literally stick to your skin. I don't even need to wear a belt with these.

Next I decided to layer up with a basic long sleeved top from H&M, these are great to wear underneath shirts, with pencil skirts or just for layering purposes. This mustard colour also brightens up the outfit.

This fabulous faux fur gillet was actually given to me by a brand called 'Urban Bliss' that I met when I attended the MOBOS at the beginning of the month. They have some ammmazing knit wear pieces at a great price (which I plan on getting lol). I love the zip detailing at the front and the high collar so I can keep my neck warm.

Usually I would be wearing statements, but aint nobody got time for that when it is this cold. I went to Debenhams and purchased these lovely leather gloves that just trap the heat and keep your hands warm.

I also didn't feel like carrying a huge bag around today, so I stuck with just carrying my essentials with this small bag from New Look.

My favourite part of this outfit is actually my Kurt Geiger ankle boots. OMG they are comfortable, I feel like I'm wearing socks. I've literally been living in these for the past month. I love the details of the gold on the side, and the leopard print heels.

The Parker Coat

Outfit

Parker coat: Bench
Trousers: Matalan
Shirt: Primark
Shoes: Primark

It's official winter has arrriiivvved in England. Technically it's still Autumn, but we are practically hanging onto the last moments of it, because when I stepped out of my house this morning it was soooo cold! I felt like the weather slapped me lol, but that is no excuse to not look fabulous.

Today was freezing and drizzly so I decided to combat against the weather with this gorgeous red parker coat from 'Bench'. I got it as a free press sample when I did styling at the 'MOBOS' 2015 (perks of the job), and I must say it is soooooo warm, it's lined with a fluffy fabric that traps all the heat, and has this oversized hood edged with this beautiful fur.

Today was not the day for a skirt and went with these skin tight lilac treggings from Matalan which are great for adding a block of colour into your outfit.

My shirt from Primark is nice and light giving the oufit a preppy look, which I then layered up with a waist coat from TopShop for a bit of extra warmth and length.

My statement rings are of course from LBD Gems. My favourite part of this whole coat is this thumb design details so that when your hands are cold you can put your thumbs through the holes and the arms of the coat move down to act as gloves.

The whole outfit is tied is by the red shoes which are very comfortable due to the block heel on them, and the nail varnish I'm wearing are from Primark.

Fashion Fix Friday - Lianne La Havas

For the past few days I've been blasting Kendrick Lamar, D'angelo, Erykah Badu and doing some illustrations. Today I thought I would show you how I envisioned my muse Lianne La Havas. I randomly met her in 2014 on the 58 bus in Leyton, and what did I do? I pulled out my design portfolio and showed it to her of course lol. She was lovely! She spoke of how she liked to support new designers.

I am so inspired by her music, her hair, her style and just her care free attitude in general. In a lot of ways she reminds me of myself with the way she carries herself and her apparent love for shirts, circle skirts and afros.

I would absolutely love to design for her and hopefully someday that will be a reality for me. These next three outfits you will see is how I picture her going to events in 'Shara' designs - Enjoy! :)

Design 1. Lianne Going to the Brit Awards (In my Mind lol)

2.) Lianne On the Red Carpet

3.) Lianne Off to Album signing or press dinner

Its always nice when you tweet your design and you get the stamp of approval. I posted a design and Lianne actually tweeted back to say that she liked my work! I am so happy and excited! I better get to making this dress :)

MOBOS 2015 - Shara is Assistant Stylist to Lethal Bizzle Dancers!

OMGGGGG! Guys I cannot contain my excitement. I Shara Johnson had the amazing opportunity of being an assistant stylist for the MOBOS 2015. The 'MOBOS' for people who don't know is a prestigious annual awards ceremony that celebrates Music Of Black Origin. Attended by the likes of Rita Ora, Ella Eyre and Lianne La Havas it was certainly an event not to be missed.

Dancers styled by Sabrina Grant & Myself (Shara Johnson)

You can only imagine my excitement when head stylist Sabrina Grant called me to ask if I wanted to be her assistant, I was like 'YEEES OF COURSE'. So I packed my bags and headed up to Leeds for two days, where we were styling Lethal Bizzle's back up dancers for his opening performance of his song 'Fester'.

My MOBOS lanyard pass

I was so thrilled and chuffed with how things went, I didn't get over whelmed by it. I got stuck right in stitching dancers in their costumes, making sure things were in place, making sure they looked great going on stage. After some dance rehearsals I got to go on set of the opening scene filming of  Lethal Bizzle pulling up to the arena in the Lamborghini.

On set of filming opening performance scene

The main stage of the MOBOS looked ammaazzinng, its one thing seeing it all on TV but actually being there was an experience I will never forget.

Show day was fabulous, everything went to plan and the dancers looked great. We styled them in Catsuits for sexiness but still made it appropriate for TV, and the 'Lethal Bizzle' performance was ammaziing. He is a genuinely really nice artist, he introduced himself to everyone and was very friendly.

I met Shakka (whos music I love!) I also met the fabulous singer / artist Shezar who can saaaannng! I built up a really great rapor with her and I will be designing for her in the near future and I can't wait!

Me & music artist Shezar

As well as that I got so many goodies, and when I say goodies I mean free samples (perks of the job). I got a hoodie from an emerging brand called 'Marbek' whos Atlas jackets and over sized t-shirts are gorgeous. I also got a rose coloured necklace from  'Buckley London', as well as a 'Bench' parker coat, a faux fur gillet from 'Urban Bliss' and lots more.

One of the founders of 'Marbek' & I

Overall I had the one of the best experiences I could've asked for, I learned a lot, but most importantly I showed myself that I can do this. I want to say a special thanks to stylist Sabrina Grant for this opportunity, I am still on a high right now, and I am confident it can only get better from here for me. MOBOS 2015 YOU WERE EPIC!

Kimono & Micro Shorts

Outfit

Crop Top: TopShop (similar here)
Shorts: H&M
Kimono: Urban Outfitters
Sandals: Urban Outfitters
Beach Bag: Primark
Rings: LBD Gems

My holiday in Turkey is over by now and I'm back in England, but I thought I'd bring the sun back and do one more holiday style. On this day it was baking hot at 32 degrees and my sister and I were going to the spa, so I thought I would opt for a simple outfit and jazz it up with a kimono.

I always say if you are going to go short on top go long on the bottom, but in this case it was to hot for that so I decided to go short and then let the length of the kimono balance out the amount of skin I was showing. My shorts from H&M are cute shorts for a holiday, or if you are going on the beach and you just want something to put over your bikini these are perfect.

I love this kimono and it almost feels like a dressing gown. Its very light making it perfect throw over your swimwear as a quick cover up - and at £5 reduced from £58 in the Urban Outfitters sale, it was practically a steal.

I love that under the kimono I am wearing all white, my skin tone pops against the white and a pop of colour comes through from my blue nail varnish on my feet. Not forgetting my fabulous sandals that literally go with everything, I practically lived in them the whole holiday lol.

I complete my outfit with my grey and yellow statement rings from LBD Gems and kept my nails quite muted for a change by using silver nail varnish by Essie.

Travel Vlog

Over the last couple of weeks, I've been sharing some travel posts of my holiday in Turkey. Whilst images are great, I sometimes believe that footage can show you what a good time I had better than I can explain it to you. Here is a mini video of the things I got up to whilst I was in Turkey.

I realised that every now and again you need to go somewhere nice, take a break, reevaluate and start again. - Enjoy! If you're on YouTube make sure you SUBSCRIBE to my channel! :)

Turkey Travel Post 3: A Day at Manavgat Market

Outfit

Bralet - Urban Outfitters
Maxi Skirt - River Island
Sandals - River Island
Bag - Urban Outfitters

On Thursday me & my little sis decided to get out and about in Turkey and do an excursion which was ammmmaaaazziinnnng, but we had to be up super early for the day to commence at 8am, non the less the early start was more than worth it.

We began the day by going on a marvellous cruise on the Manavgat River, and then we took a trip to the market where we got to look at all the different spices, trinkets and clothes.

I found this beautiful hand made necklace on one of the stalls on the beach. I had to get it! I love handcrafted pieces. All the colours pulled the outfit together and draws attention away from my clevage. Then I got to the other market and saw it again in a different colour and of course I had to get that one too.

For today's outfit I wanted to wear a maxi skirt that was easy going and floaty that covered my legs, but let my skin breathe at the same time.

As usual I kept my eye shadow bright and vibrant with an ombre effect by using the 'SLEEK' eye shadow  palette.

Travel Post 2 - The Celebration! & Marvellous Maxi

Outfit

Pink Beach Maxi Dress: River Island
Sandals: Urban Outfitters
Yellow Sliders: Primark
Brown Maxi Dress: Market Stall

HAPPY BIRTHDAY too my little sister Talisha who turned 22 yesterday! WOOIII! It was only fitting that we celebrated her birthday in style - and we had a blast!

The day started off admittedly a bit slow because our excursion got cancelled, but nevertheless we didn't let that dampen our spirits, and we went to the beach, then indulged in some waffles, ice cream and cocktails.

After running around playing volleyball, and cooling off in the sea all day, it was time to get ready for dinner. I opted for this long maxi dress, which is perfect if you want to transition from a day look to a relaxed dinner look, especially if you are in hot country where its still warm at night. I love the colours and pattern mixing in this dress.

Advice: If you want to make this look more formal you can pull your hair back into a sleek bun and opt to accessorise with some earrings if you wish.
After dinner we went to a Cuban dance and acrobatic show, it was FANTASTIC! I was thoroughly entertained by the dancing and the tricks, but I was very inspired by the costumes that the dancers wore - they were just so colourful, lively and fun.

(8)'And after the show its the after party'(8) And it was exactly that. Everyone filed out of the theatre and onto the dance floor where everyone sang happy birthday to my sister, and then we just had a good dance and had more cocktails until 1am.

When we got back to the room the staff had left this lovely cake for my sister. What a way to celebrate a birthday, I'm just happy my sister had a great time and I was thrilled that we could celebrate somewhere other than England, and that I got to share this experience with her YYYAAASSS! :)
