Hello my dears!
It's 2018...2018! OMG I can hardly believe it, where on earth the time has gone I have absolutely no idea. The new year has its pros and cons for me being an early January baby. The cons are: 1.) Everyone is absolutely skint, and usually rallying people for my birthday is a mammoth task because they've gone crazy with spending at Christmas, 2.) practically thrown their money away for new years, and to top it off, 3.) most of my friends have children now, so you know priorities and all that. However with that being said, the pros are, the new year always feels like a clean slate and the opportunity to start fresh. To be honest the older I get the less I want all the fuss and the more I enjoy going away for weekend trips - and that's exactly what I did, I took my Mr and we had a spa weekend away in Buckinghamshire, and it was glorious!
On the morning of my birthday I got lots of messages from my family and friends which made me feel loved and special as you do, and in the afternoon my Mr and I arrived at the lovely Crown Plaza hotel for a weekend of indulgence and relaxation. It began with my spa treatments which included a Swedish back massage and a hot oil and salt body scrub, it was so good I fell asleep on the table lol.
After that we spent time in the Sauna and steam room, followed by the jacuzzi.
In the evening we had a lovely 3 course al a carte dinner, my favourite part was most definitely the desert as I have a major sweet tooth!
Dinner was then followed by my chocolate cake and a birthday song, I was honestly so happy I felt like a princess.
You guys already know I had to turn it all the way up with my birthday dress which was a fabulous deep v silk jersey drape dress from House of CB, and then when I turn around in it, POW! I hit you with the backless view lool.
I love the high split in this dress, its very daring, sexy but still classy.
To add a pop of colour I wore these beautiful purple metallic leather court shoes from Aldo. Usually I would've paired a dress like this with a barley there shoe, but in this instance this shoe works better for making a statement.
The next day we relaxed with a lie in, spending time at the gym, and in the evening we went out for some good ole faith jack daniels ribs at TGI's and washed it all down with one of our favourite cocktails - 'Purple Rain', my dears if you have not tried this drink you MUST try it, its sooo nice and they are served in these huge glasses, which would explain why after that and a glass of prosecco I was very tipsy lool.
All in all I had a fabulous birthday and get away weekend, I'm kind of sad that it's come to an end and I wish it was just starting, but this weekend has given me the boost of energy I need to start new year with a bang! This year I plan to take even more risks, do more things that scare me and go harder than usual for the things I want. 2018 lets get it! :) xx
