Faux Fur Gillet & Joni Jeans

Outfit

Faux Fur Gillet - Urban Bliss
Long sleeved top - H&M
Joni Jeans - Top Shop
Ankle Boots - Kurt Geiger
Shoulder bag - New Look
Gloves - Debenhams

OMGGGGG! It is sooooo cold! I know in my last post I said that we were on the verge of Winter, but noooo Winter is here and it is not playing around. It was just 2 degrees yesterday here in Birmingham, so before I ran any errands I decided to wrap up warm.

I opted to wear these Joni jeans from Top Shop, and usually I just by jeans for £14.99 from H&M, but I always find that within two months my thighs have just ripped straight through them (black girl thick thigh problems). So after much deliberation I just thought I'd get two really good pairs of jeans, and honestly ladies the fit on these jeans is brilliant, they're super high waisted and literally stick to your skin. I don't even need to wear a belt with these.

Next I decided to layer up with a basic long sleeved top from H&M, these are great to wear underneath shirts, with pencil skirts or just for layering purposes. This mustard colour also brightens up the outfit.

This fabulous faux fur gillet was actually given to me by a brand called 'Urban Bliss' that I met when I attended the MOBOS at the beginning of the month. They have some ammmazing knit wear pieces at a great price (which I plan on getting lol). I love the zip detailing at the front and the high collar so I can keep my neck warm.

Usually I would be wearing statements, but aint nobody got time for that when it is this cold. I went to Debenhams and purchased these lovely leather gloves that just trap the heat and keep your hands warm.

I also didn't feel like carrying a huge bag around today, so I stuck with just carrying my essentials with this small bag from New Look.

My favourite part of this outfit is actually my Kurt Geiger ankle boots. OMG they are comfortable, I feel like I'm wearing socks. I've literally been living in these for the past month. I love the details of the gold on the side, and the leopard print heels.

The Parker Coat

Outfit

Parker coat: Bench
Trousers: Matalan
Shirt: Primark
Shoes: Primark

It's official winter has arrriiivvved in England. Technically it's still Autumn, but we are practically hanging onto the last moments of it, because when I stepped out of my house this morning it was soooo cold! I felt like the weather slapped me lol, but that is no excuse to not look fabulous.

Today was freezing and drizzly so I decided to combat against the weather with this gorgeous red parker coat from 'Bench'. I got it as a free press sample when I did styling at the 'MOBOS' 2015 (perks of the job), and I must say it is soooooo warm, it's lined with a fluffy fabric that traps all the heat, and has this oversized hood edged with this beautiful fur.

Today was not the day for a skirt and went with these skin tight lilac treggings from Matalan which are great for adding a block of colour into your outfit.

My shirt from Primark is nice and light giving the oufit a preppy look, which I then layered up with a waist coat from TopShop for a bit of extra warmth and length.

My statement rings are of course from LBD Gems. My favourite part of this whole coat is this thumb design details so that when your hands are cold you can put your thumbs through the holes and the arms of the coat move down to act as gloves.

The whole outfit is tied is by the red shoes which are very comfortable due to the block heel on them, and the nail varnish I'm wearing are from Primark.

Fashion Fix Friday - Lianne La Havas

For the past few days I've been blasting Kendrick Lamar, D'angelo, Erykah Badu and doing some illustrations. Today I thought I would show you how I envisioned my muse Lianne La Havas. I randomly met her in 2014 on the 58 bus in Leyton, and what did I do? I pulled out my design portfolio and showed it to her of course lol. She was lovely! She spoke of how she liked to support new designers.

I am so inspired by her music, her hair, her style and just her care free attitude in general. In a lot of ways she reminds me of myself with the way she carries herself and her apparent love for shirts, circle skirts and afros.

I would absolutely love to design for her and hopefully someday that will be a reality for me. These next three outfits you will see is how I picture her going to events in 'Shara' designs - Enjoy! :)

Design 1. Lianne Going to the Brit Awards (In my Mind lol)

2.) Lianne On the Red Carpet

3.) Lianne Off to Album signing or press dinner

Its always nice when you tweet your design and you get the stamp of approval. I posted a design and Lianne actually tweeted back to say that she liked my work! I am so happy and excited! I better get to making this dress :)

MOBOS 2015 - Shara is Assistant Stylist to Lethal Bizzle Dancers!

OMGGGGG! Guys I cannot contain my excitement. I Shara Johnson had the amazing opportunity of being an assistant stylist for the MOBOS 2015. The 'MOBOS' for people who don't know is a prestigious annual awards ceremony that celebrates Music Of Black Origin. Attended by the likes of Rita Ora, Ella Eyre and Lianne La Havas it was certainly an event not to be missed.

You can only imagine my excitement when head stylist Sabrina Grant called me to ask if I wanted to be her assistant, I was like 'YEEES OF COURSE'. So I packed my bags and headed up to Leeds for two days, where we were styling Lethal Bizzle's back up dancers for his opening performance of his song 'Fester'.

My MOBOS lanyard pass

I was so thrilled and chuffed with how things went, I didn't get over whelmed by it. I got stuck right in stitching dancers in their costumes, making sure things were in place, making sure they looked great going on stage. After some dance rehearsals I got to go on set of the opening scene filming of  Lethal Bizzle pulling up to the arena in the Lamborghini.

The main stage of the MOBOS looked ammaazzinng, its one thing seeing it all on TV but actually being there was an experience I will never forget.

Show day was fabulous, everything went to plan and the dancers looked great. We styled them in Catsuits for sexiness but still made it appropriate for TV, and the 'Lethal Bizzle' performance was ammaziing. He is a genuinely really nice artist, he introduced himself to everyone and was very friendly.

I met Shakka (whos music I love!) I also met the fabulous singer / artist Shezar who can saaaannng! I built up a really great rapor with her and I will be designing for her in the near future and I can't wait!

As well as that I got so many goodies, and when I say goodies I mean free samples (perks of the job). I got a hoodie from an emerging brand called 'Marbek' whos Atlas jackets and over sized t-shirts are gorgeous. I also got a rose coloured necklace from  'Buckley London', as well as a 'Bench' parker coat, a faux fur gillet from 'Urban Bliss' and lots more.

Overall I had the one of the best experiences I could've asked for, I learned a lot, but most importantly I showed myself that I can do this. I want to say a special thanks to stylist Sabrina Grant for this opportunity, I am still on a high right now, and I am confident it can only get better from here for me. MOBOS 2015 YOU WERE EPIC!
